History
of a castle,
Solosancho is a village located 20 km southwest of the city of Avila,
south of Valley Amblés. It is characterized by its beautiful landscapes,
dominate the highlands in the south and the plains in the north. The historical
and artistic heritage of the area also rises the tourist attraction.
There are two historical relics who excel in this area: The castro from Ulaca
and Castle Villaviciosa. The fort was declared Ulaca of
historical artistic monument in 1931, with the Second Republic.
Not very far from the town is situated in the Sierras and parameres Serrota.
The fort is a village of Ulaca emerged in the Iron Age which was a stronghold
for vettones. The castle was built in the Villaviciosa s. XIV to have controlled
access to the valley Amblés from neighbouring Extremadura and the hostel which
houses today assumes Nobre of warlord Sancho de Estrada, a descendant of Roman
emperors, El Capitan Knights Avila, whose arms were Aguila Negra in the Field
